Our 1-Day Intro to Backcountry Touring course assumes no prior knowledge of ski touring or the equipment involved. However, we do require a moderate level of downhill skiing ability and fitness for the uphill. Gear is not supplied, so you will need to source your own touring skis or snowboard with skins and ideally ski crampons as well. We can provide you with avalanche safety equipment and a touring backpack if required.

A more technical option for the bold climber, the South West ridge is a very asthetic line that bisects the West Face and requires calves of steel and solid french cramponing technique as you ascend hundreds of meters of 10-point terrain to arrive at the WI3 crux which guards the summit.
